Blue Ridge Community College seeks a dynamic and collaborative Healthcare Program Manager to lead, develop, and manage a robust portfolio of non-credit healthcare programs. This leadership role is pivotal in responding to the evolving training needs of our regional healthcare industry. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Workforce Solutions team, responsible for building strong relationships with healthcare partners, guiding student recruitment efforts, managing a team of instructors, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, impactful training that leads to employment and career advancement for our students.

Core Responsibilities
- Program Development & Management: Assess regional healthcare market needs to develop, deliver, and continuously improve a comprehensive suite of non-credit courses and credentials. Oversee all program logistics, including course scheduling, curriculum design, and program effectiveness.
- Industry Outreach & Recruitment Strategy: Serve as a primary liaison with regional healthcare employers and advisory committees to ensure program relevance and establish clinical site agreements. Collaborate with the marketing team to guide recruitment strategies and actively represent BRCC healthcare programs at community outreach events, information sessions, and industry meetings.
- Team Leadership & Supervision: Lead the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and supervision of a team of adjunct instructors. Provide ongoing mentorship, direction, and performance evaluation to ensure instructional excellence and support faculty retention.
- Instructional Support: Maintain instructional readiness and serve as a substitute instructor for allied health programs as needed, ensuring seamless continuity of learning for students.
- Financial & Administrative Oversight: Develop and manage the program budget to meet financial objectives. Coordinate with accrediting bodies to ensure program compliance.
- Student Success: Work with college deans to identify and create pathways for students to transition from non-credit credentials into academic degree programs where appropriate.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA’s/Required Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise a team, including the recruitment, hiring, evaluation, and professional development of staff or adjunct faculty
- Proven experience in building and maintaining strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, such as healthcare employers, community organizations, and advisory committees
- Strong project management skills with the ability to independently develop, manage, and assess educational programs from conception to completion, including budget management and financial oversight
- Experience contributing to marketing and recruitment strategies to drive program enrollment and community visibility
- Ability to effectively teach and facilitate training for adult learners
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in modern office and collaboration software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace)
Required Qualifications
- Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- Hands-on clinical and administrative experience in the healthcare field
- Ability to teach in one or more allied health disciplines (e.g., Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, etc.) to serve as a backup instructor.
Additional Considerations
Not required, but helpful:
- Experience managing programs or projects in an educational or corporate training setting
- Experience with curriculum design and instruction for adult learners
- Proficiency with a student information system (SIS) and learning management systems (LMS) like Canvas
- Experience with accreditation processes for healthcare programs
- Hands-on clinical experience with substantial administrative responsibility in the healthcare field
