About the Solomon Islands Australia Partnership for Health

The Solomon Islands-Australia Partnership for Health is a four-year initiative from January 2025 to December 2028. This program succeeds the Health Sector Support Program Phase 3 (HSSP3), which operated from 2016 to 2024. The new partnership focuses on enhancing provincial health service delivery and strengthening the Ministry of Health and Medical Services’ capacity to implement the National Health Strategic Plan 2022–2031. Australia has committed AU$28 million to this four-year health program, with an emphasis on provincial service delivery.

The Role
The Senior Provincial Health Adviser (SPHA) will support the MHMS and Provincial Health Directors (PHDs) in improving the delivery of essential health services through strengthened operational support and the effective implementation of Provincial Annual Operational Plans (AOPs). The Adviser will ensure that DFAT budget support is used effectively, that services are accessible and equitable, and that provincial health service delivery is informed by data, learning, and locally led priorities. The role focuses on achieving results using established systems, not broader system reform.

About You

You will need to have the following

Qualifications

· An advanced degree in Public Health, Health Administration, or a related field and sector experience will be considered.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in health service delivery or health program implementation.
  • Expertise: Expertise in provincial health systems, financial management, and service quality improvement.
  • Capacity Building: Strong experience in training, mentoring, and building capacity within government or healthcare teams, including developing training materials and programs.
  • Engagement: Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, healthcare leaders, development partners, and community representatives.

  • Leadership: Strong leadership and facilitation skills, with the ability to inspire and guide multidisciplinary teams toward achieving governance goals.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, enabling effective cross-cultural and multi-sectoral engagement.

Remuneration
Commensurate to the technical knowledge and years of relevant experience and in accordance with the DT Global and ASIPS+ remuneration framework.
