The Healthcare Surveyor/District 2 Healthcare Surveyor will:

  • Surveying Long – Term Care Healthcare Facilities including:
    • Interviewing residents/clients and staff of healthcare facilities;
    • Evaluating the facility environment to ensure it meets safety and infection control standards, reviewing records, and ensuring resident/client rights;
  • Quality of care and quality of life meet regulation standards.

How does it get done?

The Healthcare Surveyor/District 2 Healthcare Surveyor is responsible for:

  • Surveying Long – Term Care Healthcare Facilities including but not limited to: Interviewing residents/clients and staff of healthcare facilities, evaluating the facility environment to ensure it meets safety and infection control standards, reviewing records, and ensuring resident/client rights, quality of care and quality of life meet regulation standards.

  • Long – Term Care healthcare providers;
  • New Mexico residents receiving healthcare services.

Minimum Qualification

Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing, Architecture, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Rehabilitation, and/or Criminal Justice and two (2) years directly related experience in community based healthcare services and case management. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver’s License. Must Possess and maintain a current Defensive driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting and in the field at community program sites. Out-of-state travel for training, and extensive statewide, with the occasional overnight travel is required. On-call duties may be required.
